World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought

Every second, an equivalent of four football fields of healthy land becomes degraded. This adds up to a total of 100 million hectares each year. With 40% of the world’s land already degraded, urgent action is needed to restore ecosystems and ensure sustainable land management.
